About SolarEdge
SolarEdge is a leading solar brand built around panel-level optimisers and smart inverters. Their systems are designed to make the most of each panel, handle awkward roofs and support add-ons such as home batteries and EV charging, all managed through a single monitoring platform.

The SolarEdge ecosystem
Commercial and larger systems
For larger homes and small commercial sites, SolarEdge three-phase inverters, optimisers and commercial storage options provide the same core benefits at a bigger scale. This makes it possible to design systems that match higher loads without losing the control offered by optimisers.SolarEdge with new or existing solar panels
SolarEdge systems work with standard PV panels or with SolarEdge’s own smart modules. We design the panel layout and optimiser map so each panel performs properly, even on roofs with shade or mixed directions. If you already have panels in place, we can check whether upgrading the inverter or adding optimisers and storage is worthwhile before making any changes.
Home batteries
SolarEdge home batteries are available in different voltage formats to suit various system designs. They store surplus solar or off-peak electricity for use later in the day, cutting reliance on the grid and helping smooth out rising energy costs. Systems can often be expanded over time if your usage changes.
EV charging
SolarEdge EV chargers integrate with the wider system so you can charge from the grid or draw on solar and stored energy when conditions allow. Used alongside SolarEdge solar and battery hardware, they turn the car into part of the overall energy plan rather than a separate cost.
Inverters and optimisers
SolarEdge systems use inverters paired with power optimisers on each panel or small group of panels. This helps reduce the impact of shade, chimneys and mixed roof directions, as each panel can work closer to its own best output. Home inverters cover typical single-phase supplies, with short-string and three-phase options where needed.
Why SolarEdge suits local properties
Many homes in Norfolk and Suffolk have mixed roof angles, chimneys, dormers or nearby trees. SolarEdge optimisers are well suited to these conditions because they allow each panel to respond to real-world light levels rather than being held back by the weakest panel in a string.
When combined with a battery and an EV charger, the system can support typical daytime solar generation, evening usage and overnight charging on EV tariffs.

Why choose Redhill Services?
Redhill design SolarEdge systems from the ground up, starting with a survey and load check rather than a generic package. We plan the layout of panels, optimisers, inverters, batteries and chargers to suit your supply, roof and usage. Where you already have solar or older hardware in place, we can advise whether upgrading to SolarEdge for better performance, storage or EV charging is worthwhile.
Once the system is installed, we remain available for checks, adjustments and fault finding. You deal with a local team who understand both the equipment and the area.
Areas we cover
We install SolarEdge systems across Norwich, Broadland, the Norfolk Broads, Great Yarmouth and Gorleston, Wymondham and surrounding villages, North Norfolk towns, and into nearby parts of Suffolk including Beccles and Bungay.
Frequently asked questions...
If you are considering SolarEdge for a new install or as an upgrade in Norwich, Norfolk or Suffolk, contact Redhill Services to arrange a survey and a clear, no-pressure quotation.
What are SolarEdge optimisers and do I need them?
Optimisers are small devices that sit with the panels and help them work more independently. They are especially useful where shading or mixed roof directions would limit a standard string inverter.
Can SolarEdge work on a roof with shade or multiple orientations?
Yes. This is one of the main reasons to choose SolarEdge. The optimiser and inverter setup is designed to handle shade and varied roof angles better than basic systems.
Can I add a SolarEdge battery to my existing solar system?
In many cases, yes. We can assess your current array and inverter, then advise whether a SolarEdge battery can be integrated or whether an inverter upgrade is required.
Can you replace my old inverter with a SolarEdge one?
We can replace ageing or undersized inverters with a SolarEdge system where it makes sense. That can include adding optimisers and planning for future battery or EV charging if you want to upgrade in stages.
Do SolarEdge EV chargers work without SolarEdge solar?
They can be installed as stand-alone chargers on a normal supply. However, you get the most benefit when they are part of a SolarEdge solar and storage system.
Is SolarEdge suitable for three-phase homes or small businesses?
Yes. SolarEdge offer three-phase inverters, optimisers and storage options that suit larger properties and small commercial sites. We will confirm what is appropriate during the survey.
Do you offer checks and repairs on SolarEdge installs?
Yes. We can carry out health checks, fault finding and remedial work on SolarEdge systems, including those originally installed by other contractors.
Do SolarEdge systems improve generation compared to standard string inverters?
On complex or shaded roofs, SolarEdge can improve usable generation by letting each panel work closer to its potential. On simple, unshaded roofs the benefit is often found more in monitoring and future upgrade paths.
